#2 MAGIC SPIRIT (9-2) Sophomore colt from Walsh stable had all kinds of trouble first time out. After acting up in gate, 'SPIRIT steadied after start to lose early position, then was caught 5-wide when trying to rally on the turn. The extra half-furlong should only help his chances.
