Jose, We Hardly Knew Ya’
Today's Gulfstream feature is the Sweetest Chant for three year old fillies going a mile on the Gulfstream turf course. It seems that half the field is coming from two live races. While the faster of the two appears to be the one that Lemon Point exits, we prefer the Duff One (3-1) race because of the trip suffered by Hardly (10-1).
Indeed, Duff One finished with a flourish and showed high promise at 2. But Hardly has never found a trip that went smoothly. She appeared to have more than 2-1/4 lengths of trouble behind Duff One and is eligible to outkick this group if given clear sailing from her inside slip. Jose Lezcano opts out to stay with Bill Mott's Lemon Point (5-1), on turf, Alan Garcia could prove a suitable replacement and provide value.
Taking Hardly to win at 6-1 or greater, and key-boxing her in exotic money positions with the two mentioned here, as well as Room Service (5-1), switching to Leparoux, and Ready To Act (5-2) who figures to benefit from her recent return.
