For an ungraded stakes, the Sweetest Chant at Gulfstream Park today sure came up with some really nice graded-quality 3YO turf fillies. Two of them I'm unfamiliar with beyond the PPs but the other six are various grades of good. Perhaps even greatness could be in the futures.
The three I'm thinking of are France Group placed Premier Steps (5-2), 3-for-3 on turf Mystic Love (7-2) and the very promising Caroline Thomas (6-1). We'll take what is sure to be value with the latter.
Caroline Thomas won her course debut with a strong late rally despite a hungry pace, had earned a competitive Equiform Figure inm her NY prior, now makes the mini-turnback to the distance of that effort. With six weeks spacing and a recent PMM breeze that was 3rd fastest of 54 in her peer group that week in Boynton Beach.
Value seems assured with the big figure undefeated turfer Mystic Love, out of the Dania that has produced two next out winners, and the classy European repatriate from the high profile Chad barn with the meet's leading rider aloft.
Taking Caroline Thomas to win at 4-1 or greater and key boxing in exactas with her rivals here, and adding Jadira (5-1) and Discreet Marc (5-1) to the super-exotics mix.
