Shug Seals the Deal
Today's feature at Gulfstream is masquerading as a "non-winners of 3 optional claiming," It should really be a stakes event, such is the quality of the competition.
In fact, Seal Cove (3-1) was entered in yesterday's Grade 3 at Tampa but skipped that event in favor of this. Shug McGaughey can do my handicapping anytime, especially with a gelding that races so well when he's fresh. The fact that he's 1-for-1 on this ground, at this trip, doesn't hurt. Neither does the presence of Javier Castellano.
Taking Seal Cove to win at early line odds or greater, an exacta box with classy former Euro Princedargent (4-1), getting Lasix in U.S. debut for Clement, and adding Tiz Sardonic Joe (5-1), going first time for Wesley Ward, and the fast working price shot Humble and Hungry (20-1) to the super-exotics mix.
