No Need to Circle the Wagons

Today's feature in Hallandale is a secondary allowances for fillies and mares sprinting 7 furlongs and boasts what is likely a very short-priced favorite, one that for me is impossible to go against.

Calistoga obviously had something go wrong during the running of the G3 Eight Belles after winning both prior sprint starts over today's surface. But she's in the hands of Bill Mott, so what's a little 9-month layoff?

Without being facetious, she wouldn't be in this if she weren't 100% and she's been burning up the Payson Park surface--not an easy thing to do. Regular partner Joel Rosario takes the call.

Taking Calistoga to win, no price restrictions, and a cold exacta with Salamera, third in a recent overnighter with Javier on the re-ride.
