Noble in NOLA

The late great Cary Fotias used to say, "either you trust in the figures and you don't." He, of course, is gone, as are his figures but by anyone's current measure, Noble Indy (5-1), on anyone's scale, is the fastest 3YO in today's Risen Star.

When it has the added benefit of synching up with the visual impression the colt made in his second start and two-turn debut, the evidence is too hard to ignore.

Going in, thought that Instilled Regard (8-5), the Lecomte winner, shipping in once again from SoCal, would be a very tough out. And he may very well be. At the time, however, the Todd Pletcher shipper wasn't on the RIsen Star radar. Now he is, sitting in post #2 with Johnny.

The odds are a pipe-dream; half the early line quote would be fair.

Taking Noble Indy to win the Risen Star, key-boxing exactas with the favorite and Principe Guilherme (7-2), who benefits from an 8-pound weight pull with recent Lecomte conqueror.
