Warming Up to Global View

Today's traditional opening day feature at historic Keeneland is the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes for 3YOs at a mile and a sixteenth on turf. It, as most of the races in the next two-plus weeks has drawn a sizable field of top flight runners.

The favorite, one of two uncoupled entrants from Chad Brown is Charming Inti (5-2) who will be turning back to his best distance after a good third going longer while under pressure going 9 furlongs at Gulfstream Park.

But we're looking for big time improvement from Global View (4-1) who chased the very classy Bobby's Kitten around the Tampa oval, spotting that rival a laughably easy lead, in a promising season's debut going a mile. The added sixteenth will be in his favor and Jose Lezcano takes a return call from Tom Proctor.

Taking Global View to win at 3-1 or greater, an exacta box with 'Inti' and price shot Woodfield Springs (12-1), a sharp recent maiden graduate, and adding Canthelpbelieving (8-1), uncoupled Chad Pleuven (4-1) and recent impressive Todd graduate Picozza (9-2) to the super-exotics mix.
