Comandante’s the Hombre

Another Saturday non-stakes feature in NYC, this NX3/optional claimer for older horses going a flat mile might offer some value. Well, that's what we're seeking here.

Zivo (2-1) has never finished off the board in 12 lifetime starts, winning six; overcame trouble to win the West Point last time out, is the worthy favorite.

But Comandante (4-1) returns with excellent spacing for Pletcher/Castellano team while switching to his surface. He was working very well, nicely drawn outside and fits today's dynamics perfectly.

Taking Comandante to win at 5-2 or greater, an exacta box with Zivo, and adding Spa City Fever (5-2), 1 two-time winner here, And Sailmate, owning good figures and strong late kick, to the super-exotics mix.
