Happy Mother’s Day

With three graded stakes to choose from on the Belmont Park program, we're opting for the Ruffian Stakes in deference to Mother's Day.

While the top two choices, Fiftyshadesofhay (2-1) and the returning Grace Hall (5-2), own the best company lines given all the Grade 1 appearances, it's My Wandy's Girl (7-2) that inspires the greatest confidence today.

A sharp winner of the G2 Barbara Fritchie, she's been freshened by Mike Hushion in order to make amends here, having finished second in this race last year. She owns tactical speed and kick with a suitable (2) 1-1-0 at today's trip. Rajiv Maragh, who rode her successfully in the Fritchie, takes the return call.

Taking My Wandy's Girl to win at 5-2 or greater, an exacta key box with her classy rivals here, and a cold double with Amira's Prince (5-2) in the Grade 1 Man o' War.
