Taking Recency Over Promise

No shortage of speed in today's GP feature for 3YO fillies sprinting 6-1/2 furlongs featuring a couple of potential sprinting stars. We'll stay with the filly with the best recent form, recent graduate Bridled Heiress.

Following a game placing in her quickly run debut at this difficult hybrid distance, she returned to break maiden with style, winning by more than 5 lengths going 6 furlongs in 1:09 3/5, drawing out through a final quarter-mile of 24-flat.

Taking Bridled Heiress to win and boxing her in the exacta with returning Miss Belinda, a stunning maiden winner of her only start last fall at Belmont at today's trip, going first-Lasix and first-Rosario for Bill Mott.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1501

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 458-286-230

Amount Wagered: $3,002 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,132.60

Profit to Date: $130.60

Clement-Bravo Team Formidable in GP Feature

Today's optional claiming feature at Gulfstream Park for 3YO males going a mile is loaded with possibilities and opportunity providing that the right key is chosen.

We're not going to get too creative here and take the briefly freshened Scoria (2-1). the filly showed improved speed in her latest after adding blinkers for the Kittens Joy overnighter but really didn't have a chance to fire her best shot late while racing between rivals much of the way.

Her prior, at this distance vs. similar, was a probably best second, finishing like a rocket. She deserves this chance coming back with steady series of drills and Joe Bravo on the re-ride.

Taking Scoria to win, no price restrictions, and key boxing him first and second in super-exotics with recent claim Steve (6-1), another sharp claim Thunder Run (5-1) and Branded Hand (3-1) meeting weaker set for Mott who taps Rosario here.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1500

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 458-285-230

Amount Wagered: $3,000 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,132.60

Profit to Date: $132.60

Raging Figures

Today's Gulfstream feature is a very interesting optional claimer for high-priced 3YO fillies going 1-1/16 miles on the turf. We give four of the fillies an excellent chance but we're going to have to opt for early line favorite Raging Atlantic (5-2).

This filly looms fastest on our energy scale and had a tough last time out stalking the pace--not her preferred style--in the G3 Herecomesthebride at 9 furlongs. This is suitably shorter, and easier, and it's hard to imagine anyone having better meets than the team of Castellano and Maker, unless it's Castellano and Pletcher, or Castellano and...you get the idea.

Today's distance and outer draw should set her up nicely in the trip department.

Taking Raging Atlantic to win, no price restrictions, and key-boxing first and second in super-exotics with tough-trip-last-out Patsy's Holiday (3-1), recent good-looking claim One Penny Piece (4-1), price shot Backstretch Lady (8-1), from the live turf barn of Michael Wilson and well intentioned Spring Likeacobra (5-1), switching to Rosario.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1498

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 458-285-229

Amount Wagered: $2,998 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,132.60

Profit to Date: $134.60
