Taking Zayas’ Mount Should Work Like a Charm

Try as I might, in good conscience I can beat Like a Charm (5-2) on paper. While the young Oscar Gonzalez barn has gotten off to a slow start at the meet, it has done very well with its dirt sprinters, 3-for-9, and this one is coming in with the top Performance Projection by a significant margin.

Newly turned 3YO filly owns enough tactical speed and position to get a clear trip from the sharp and speedy Can't Miss (9-2) breaking from the outside beneath aggressive apprentice Gaffalione. Getting winning rider Zayas back seals the deal for us here.

Taking Like a Charm to win, no price restrictions, and exacta box with Can't Miss, and adding class dropping Gato Dorado (4-1) and Miss Wilby (3-1), getting Javier, to the super-exotics mix.

It’s As Easy as 123BET

HRI has entered into a promotional relationship with in which each Sunday we analyze the six races that comprise their unique Pick 6 contest wager. The current featured track is Parx Racing. The following is a profile of races 4 through 9.

The bet is different from the traditional Pick 6 in that a player gets points for first, second, and third-place finishes (based on pari-mutuel payoffs) by his or her selections in each of the six races.

For example, if a player’s horse finished second, paying $4.00 to place and $3.00 to show, the player would receive 7 points toward his or her total. The player with the highest number of points accumulated during the sequence is declared the winner, collecting 60% of the net pool. The second and third highest-scoring players also get a share — 30% for second and 10% for third.

Sign up to play the wager at, make your selections, and follow the live national leaderboards after each race! And if you complete the Top 10, you get your $2 back.

Wildcat Cat: The Ultimate Horse for Course

If it weren't for a wee bit of hesitation that Wildcat Red (2-1) might not have made the transition from three to four, we'd be screaming his name from Plantation to Hallandale Beach.

But given the chance the crowd might be tempted to over-bet Transparent (9-5) from the hot McLaughlin barn, we're taking the fast, game colt to improve on his worthy Gulfstream Park record of (8) 5-3-0 getting Joel Rosario for the first time.

Taking Wildcat Red to win at 8-5 or greater, an exacta box with SoFla rival East Hall (5-2) and adding sharp distance lover Catholic Cowboy (6-1) and Transparent to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2007: 1675

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 502-325

Amount Wagered:$3,350 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,468.80

Profit to Date: $118.80 {Friday results not included}
