WTF? Yes, What the Frost Gets Feature Race Call

Today's preliminary allowance Big A feature for fillies and mares, 3 & up at 7 furlongs, present an opportunity to get away from the recent steady diet of short-priced runners. Naturally, it will take an uncoupled stable mate to get that job done.

The obvious choices are Kiaran McLaughlin's impressive debut winner Regent House (8-5) and the fast and consistent Rudy trainer, Lost in Success (2-1).

The hope here is that the latter will put enough early pressure on the former so that the Rodriguez trained What the Frost (8-1) can upset both. Outrun in three winter track starts, the circumstances of a return to the main track (2) 1-1-0 and the trip (3) 2-1-0 will make all the difference.

Taking What the Frost to win at 9-2 or greater and key-boxing in exactas with the two favorites.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1506

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 462-286-231

Amount Wagered: $3,012 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,143.40

Profit to Date: $131.40

My Kingdom for Six Queens

When you check the entries for today's Big A feature, you know the five-horse field has conditions that are specific to one or two of its entrants. That seems to be the case for the two favorites; the Todd Pletcher trained Elena Strikes and Kiaran McLaughlin's Six Queens.

Because of its 7-furlong trip, the choice is Six Queens since she's earned figures at a hybrid 6-1/2 furlong trip, a race that approximates today's assignment. Further, having drawn outside her main rival
gives her the tactical edge in this spot.

Taking Six Queens to win, no price restrictions, and a cold exacta with Elena Strikes.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1505

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 461-286-231

Amount Wagered: $3,010 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,139.40

Profit to Date: $129.40

Leave the Basil, Take the ‘Scarole

Today's Aqueduct feature is a state-bred secondary allowances optional claimer for older males going a flat mile and it will be very difficult keeping early line favorite Go Get the Basil (9-5) out of the winners' circle.

Rick Violette, profitable lifetime with these kind, gets the his runner on the Big A main track where he's never been worse than second, with a win, in three lifetime appearances. He owns the tactical speed to keep contact in a relatively paceless group and reunites with Solis, who gets along very well with the newly turned 4YO.

Taking Go Get the Basil to win, no price restrictions, and key boxing him first and second in multiples with recent Nevin claim [32%] Indy Tune (4-1), possible pacesetter Joe Mooch (10-1) and Call for the Clock (2-1), nicely drawn and second off the layup.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1505

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 461-286-231

Amount Wagered: $3,010 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,139.40

Profit to Date: $129.40
