Gallantry Is Beautiful

Today's Belmont featured allowances, the day's 9th, appears at first blush between two Lukas graduates; Pletcher and McLaughlin. However, since these two both have speed as their best game, are drawn inside, with Pletcher's Read The Reserach (3-1) picking up four pounds to 122 while Sister Slate (5-2) is comng off a career best Double Top.

We'll take a price shot with Belle Gallantry (12-1), coming off a New Pace Top, whose best figures have come at one mile and whose style should enable her to stay within hailing distance of the first two before attempting a successful late run. Further, she comes from a live May 3 race that already has produced a subsequent winner.

Taking Belle Gallantry to win at 8-1 or greater and quinellas with the two favorites.
