Dad’s My True North

With two added money events scheduled for today, we're obliged to take the one that's graded and with the larger purse; the Grade 2 True North Handicap.

Early line favorite Bakken (5-2) sure looked like a top prospect last year and Chad Brown, having a very strong meet, has the abililty to get one ready for tops right off the bench.

But as the favorite against a recent Grade 1 winner? Not us. We're opting for Dads Caps (3-1) who did take advantage of an inside speed bias to win the Carter, beating better than he meets here.

And the turn-back suits well as the improved 4YO owns a (6) 3-3-0 slate at the distance. Picking up Rosario is a bonus.

Taking Dads Caps to win at 2-1 or greater and key-boxing in exotics with the favorite and Salutos Amigos (5-1), 3-for-3 since the barn change to Jacobson.

Number of Selections since 2007: 1540

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 470-295-237

Amount Wagered: $3,080 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,182.20

Profit to Date: $102.20 {Thursday results not included}
