A Gathering Storm

Today's Belmont Park featured 8th race, an N3X/optional claiming for fillies and mares going 9 furlongs on the inner turf. Anyone have a coin? Yes, it's that open.

However, it does appear that Gathering (7-2) is coming up to this the right way off two mile tries now stretches to a suitably longer trip in her start start off the layup.

The older Sheppard trainee sat the pocket in last but the pace was moderate, the final fractions brisk, and she remained one paced. It looked like a good effort from which to move forward.

Taking Gathering to win at 3-1 or greater and key-boxing in exactas with class dropping Caroline Thomas (3-1) and course loving Mariel n Kathy (10-1) who appeared in need of her last.
