Alma and Rosie

What a tricky, trappy little overnighter at Belmont Park for Father’s Day, a third race hair splitter featuring six horses and two uncoupled entries; one from Rick Dutrow, the other from Todd Pletcher.

Add a Galluscio and a Tagg and stir.

The logical choice is one of the Dutrow’s; Boys At Tosconova (7-5), who makes a habit of winning these overnighters, today a tribute to Belmont winner Lemon Drop Kid. Ramon Dominguez should have plenty of options breaking from the outside of this small band.

But we’ll take any value offered with Alma D’oro (5-2), one of the Pletcher’s, who’s won half of his four starts at this trip, exits a key race Grade 2 at Churchill, breezed very well at the Oklahoma training track, and attracts Rosie for a barn that’s historically profitable with its stretchouts.

Taking Alma D’oro to win at early line odds or greater, and key boxing with the favorite and sharp working stablemate Colizeo (6-1).

Running Totals: (1098) 339-213-165 Total Dollar Return: $2,328.30 [win selections only] {Saturday results not included}
