Speed Kills in Belmont Feature
Today's Belmont Park feature is not the most compelling we've ever seen, the Dancin Renee for state-bred filly sprinters going 6F has attracted a field of just five.
The reason for that is the presence of La Verdad (2-5). The only question is whether the speedy Clear Pasaj (8-1) can put enough early pressure on her to set the table for Willet (3-1), who seems to be preparing for a strong second-half campaign.
But the very fast Linda Rice trainee is a flat out win machine, her only loss since April of 2013 being a second place finish in the 7F open class Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie--but two starts back won the G2 Distaff over in Queens.
No choice but to go on record with La Verdad, no price restrictions, an exacta box with Willet, and adding last year's winner, Clear Pasaj (8-1), to the exotics mix.
