Catch a Tigress by the Tahoe

Today's Belmont Park feature goes as the fifth race, a secondary allowances optional claimer for older state-bred fillies going a mile. It drew only six horses but the event is far from easy with traps everywhere.

Consequently we're not going to get too cute here. Tahoe Tigress (5-2) improved dramatically off Jeremiah Englehart's claim, promptly winning in a career best performance and improving her Belmont record to 3-for-4 while remaining a perfect 2-for-2 at the trip. Miss Da Point, set up for a regression, can provide a willing target for her late run.

Taking Tahoe Tigress to win at 2-1 or greater and key-boxing her first and second in exactas with Necessary Luxury (8-1), repeating a winning turf to dirt pattern and attracting Rosario, and Newbie (5-1), a mile specialist and getting away from some recent tougher competition; Prado sticks.
