Calhoun Sprinter Strikes the Right Note in Quick Call

Today's feature is the always entertaining Quick Call turf sprint for 3-year-olds at 5-1/2 furlongs. Competitive? Well, we left six of the nine entrants open.

The race features a worthy favorite, Weekend Holiday (3-1); a talented returnee, Central Banker (8-1); and a speedy graded stakes performer that ran well in his only turf start, Santos Amigos (6-1).

But the most interesting is Strike The Note (8-1), who really has come to hand for Bret Calhoun, a winner with his only starter here. HIs lifetime best figure was earned given the same race dynamics. He's positioned nicely toward the outside of this speedy group with Johnny, and worked a very strong half-mile at his CD base last week.

Taking Strike The Note to win at 6-1 or greater and key-boxing him in all money positions with his rivals here.
