Micromanaging Sometimes Is Required
Today's feature is the Birdstone Stakes at 14 furlongs as the marathon theme continues but the only difference here is that this one's on dirt.
Between this and yesterday's John's Call, Todd cross-entered in both races; you be the trainer. On Wednesday on turf, not his proven surface, he is 3-1 on the early line. On Thursday, on his surface and against fewer and less accomplished runners, he's 4-5. What would you do?
I would take Micromanage to win, no price restrictions, and box him in the exacta with Don Dulce (7-2).
