It’s the Racetrack, Silly

Today's feature is the Grade 1 Personal Ensign, and although the term rivalry is often used too loosely, this one might be just right: Close Hatches (8-5) v Princess of Sylmar (9-5).

Close Hatches is the division's leader; she's fresh, pointed here by Bill Mott. Joel Rosario rides. She has more tactical speed than the Princess.

But the Princess has brand new blinkers and she loves them, helps her to focus, and if there's one thing she loves more than blinkers, it's Saratoga Race Course, over which she's 2-for-2, and this trip, where her slate reads (5) 3-1-0.

Taking Princess of Sylmar to win, no price restrictions, and boxed exacta with her rival, and adding Stanwyck (15-1) to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2007: 1596

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 485-309-245

Amount Wagered: $3,190 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,276.00

Profit to Date: $86.00
