A Gift Horse
Now there are even problems filling overnight stakes. Today's third race drew five entrants including an uncoupled Pletcher entry.
Two horses, Percussion (2-1) and Easter Gift (9-5) are the most accomplished of the quintet. Percussion has been very competitive keeping better company but Ester Gift has been much improved since moving to the Brown barn this winter.
His style fits the speedy race shape here and he returns with ideal spacing after winning a Penn National stakes June 1. If the pace doesn't develop as anticipated, it's likely Joel Rosario will adapt to the scenario.
Taking Easter Gift to win at 8-5 or greater and key boxing in exactas with Percussion and Csaba (3-1), overmatched in recent Whitney but which raced well here in 2012.
