Second Verse Same As the First
Plenty of stakes action on the final Saturday of Saratoga 145 but none more significant than the G1 Woodward--even with the return of Horse of the Year Wise Dan following colic surgery in the G2 Baruch.
Try as I might, I couldn't honestly beat favorite Moreno (2-1), even if his Whitney runner-up, Itsmyluckyday (5-2), is adding blinkers and draws the pole.
But it's hard to envision where Whitney winner Moreno won't control the pace once again, putting his rivals in a damned-of-you-do-and-if-you-don't scenario. Further, he reaffirmed his affinity for this surface in the Whitney and returned to work brilliantly last weekend for this.
Taking Moreno to win, no price restrictions, an exacta key-box first and second with Itsmyluckyday and the freshened Zivo (5-1), and adding surface lover Micromanage (8-1) and the newly blinkered Norumbega (10-1) to the super-exotics mix.
