In Anticipation of a WInning Effort

Today's feature is the Grade 2 in the With Anticpation and, per usual, it has drawn a gateload of juvenile turf specialists. We're distilling this wide open event down to a manageable size, trying to optimize the play.

There likely will be two strong favorites at post time and each is deserving. Joha (7-2) earned good Equiform figure winning his turf debut sprinting then won Canadian restricted stakes on Woodbine's Polytrack, a key race producing two winners from three subsequent starters. Further good new is that he's bred for the added ground, gets Ramon, and the Mike Maker barn is a profitable 27% first-time going long.

Charming Kitten (3-1)was well tipped in his debut, heavily bet, then went out and delivered, ridden with uber confidence by Javier Castellano who engineered a bold, late finish from wide draw. And note that Todd Pletcher is 28% efficient second-time on turf turf runners and, of course, Castellano will take the return call.

Taking Joha to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta box with Charming Kitten.

Running Totals: (1154) 355-222-173 Total Dollar Return: $2,441.50 [win selections only]
