Seeking Value in Dueling Grounds Oaks

Both marathon stakes at Kentucky Downs today are extremely competitive, per usual, and the entrant that intrigues us most is La Manta Gris (6-1) in the Dueling Grounds Oaks.

Following an after-the-fact late run in the G3 Regret at Monmouth, the filly dropped down, stretched out, and overcame a slow pace to win at 11 furlongs at the Spa. Loses Leparoux to the early line fave Daddys Lil Darling today, but picks up more-than-able substitute Jose Lezcano.

Taking La Manta Gris at 9-2 or greater and exacta key-boxes with the fave and Quebec (5-1).
