Pricci's Free Daily Feature Race Analysis

Whenever his daily work schedule permits, HorseRaceInsider executive editor John Pricci will analyze that day's feature race from a major thoroughbred-racing jurisdiction.

Yes, Sir!

Today's feature at Belmont, an optional claiming sprint in today's eighth race, is interesting for two reasons: Much Stronger(6-5) really came to hand for Jacobson/Castellano team at Saratoga but priors at Belmont Park left much to be desired.

When last seen, Comandante (6-1) was opening a 12-length lead going 7 furlongs--possibly more between calls-before, understandably, tiring. Today he shows up in Todd Pletcher's barn for the first time with a bullet work and is removing blinkers, a profitable 33% scenario for this outfit. Throw is a switch to Johnny for good measure and there it is.

Taking Comandante to win at 3-1 or greater and exacta key-boxes with Much Stronger and the freshened Tancredi (10-1), a 20% Barbara angle, and picks up Bravo.
