Hoping Clement Filly Will Be My Valentine

Today's Belmont feature which goes as the 4th race is a restricted stakes for state-bred fillies and mares going 7 furlongs for which Willnt (1-1), winner of the Union Avenue at Saratoga last out. If speed figures are the measure, the rest of the group is running for second money.

But given the peak effort, change of venue and the added furlong, the mare looks vulnerable. It's Miss Valentine (4-1) that looks the most interesting. The filly is a 4-time winner on this surface with 3 more exacta finishes from 12 starters and has won 6 of 8 at today's trip. Irad Ortiz rides the mare back for Christophe Clement.

Taking Miss Valentine to win at 3-1 or greater, key boxing in exactas with potential speed filly Mischief Maker (3-1) and adding the favorite and turn-back Dreaming of Cara (6-1) to the super-exotic mix.
