Go East Young Lady

Today's Belmont feature, the overnight Catinca Stakes, has drawn only five but don't let that fool you. It's a highly competitive sprint for 3YO fillies going 6 furlongs.

Much will depend on pace since many of these are long on early speed but also whether the track is heavily slanted toward inside speed.

In this day and age, atmospherics notwithstanding, there is no reason for elongated pronounced biases. Talk about a level playing field. The game is hard enough without having to guess which jockey is smart or adept enough to take advantage of the prevailing conditions.

Lighthouse Bay (8-5) is the most accomplished as the G1 Prioress winner and Maracuya (9-5) seems to own the require blend of speed and stamina to prevail. But we find Bridgehampton (4-1) the most interesting.

She's faster than she is stout but has a tremendous mid-race move capable of blowing this wide open. Mike Hushion's horses have come out firing this meet not to mention that he's 27% profitable with 90-day+ layups and 38% in non-graded events. A switch to the aggressive and talented youngster, Jose Ortiz, can't hurt.

Taking Bridgehampton to win at 3-1 or greater and key-boxing first and second in exactas with her two rivals above.
