Sky’s the Limit in Belmont Feature

Today's Belmont feature, the overnight Bowl Game Stakes for veteran turf runners going 10 furlongs is a beauty--meaning it's difficult to accept a short price under the circumstances.

Any number of these in this full field is getting class relief dropping from graded stakes and there are several that are horses for courses or distances. The thinking is that Sky Blazer (8-1) fits the bill nicely.

The class, distance and course all suit well and, further, he's been victimized by either trips or dynamics in recent starts. Working purposefully off a brief freshening, he's drawn nicely inside and gets a switch to Irad Ortiz, who's riding the Belmont course very well these days. The price should be square as well.

Taking Sky Blazer to win at early line odds or greater, and key boxing him in multiples with well spotted Imagining (5-2), class dropping Exclusive Strike (4-1), scratched Saturday awaiting this, and London Lane (10-1), who's been racing in tough luck of late.
