Rudy Runner Out of This World

Today's Big A feature, the Stallion Series Sires Stakes for state-breds sprinting 7 furlongs, is trappy with a lot more questions than answers. Layups, cold barns, hot barns, tricky pace scenario; the works. We're interested in a runner that looks like he's been pointed directly this way.

Becker's Galaxy (4-1) is a re-claim by trainer Rudy Rodriguez, whose winning at a somewhat embarrassing 32% rate this meet. The turn-back makes sense for the third start off a layup, as does the switch to stable rider Irad Ortiz.

Look for Irad to use his mount's tactical speed, favorable draw, and conditioning to pull off a minor upset.

Taking Becker's Galaxy to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta box with class-tested 3YO, Gold for the King (5-2).
