At Home On the Sand and Loam

Today's Big A feature for 3 & up males which have never won 3 or optional claiming probably will be the last 9-furlong event on this surface until the Wood Memorial on the first Saturday in April. The winter track opens Wednesday.

The hope here is that Cougar Ridge (4-1) will do his best Cigar imitation as Kenneally and friends found out last time that this runner truly likes the dirt after a turf event was rescheduled to the CD main track. Apparently, he didn't mind blinkers all that much either as he showed much improved early speed and dominated nine rivals going a flat mile. Late developing gelded 3YO will take a lot of catching, and beating.

Taking Cougar Ridge to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta box with Mr. Palmer (8-5), getting significantly class relief in this spot.
