If the Right Don’t Get You, Then the Left Will

Today's third race at the Big A, the Fickle Fanny Stakes, lamentably has drawn but a field of five, includes an uncoupled entry. Are we having fun yet?

The race is a 6-furlong sprint for fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs and in it, trainer Jason Servis has himself to beat.

Servis saddles both the speedy Indian Splendor (5-2), which he owns, and the late running Lady Gracenote (2-1). One might be dyin' -- but the other might be flyin'.

The former owns the better performance figures and the hope is that Bill Mott's Uno Duo (6-5) is sharp enough to keep the pressure on.

If that happens, Lady Gracenote is best positioned to pick up all the pieces, especially considering the best 6F race she's ever run came in a winning effort over today's surface. Regular rider Irad Ortiz takes a return call.

Taking Lady Gracenote to win at 2-1 or greater and exacta key-boxes with Uno Duo and Indian Splendor.
