A Beatable Todd-Johnny Favorite? Really?

For the third consecutive day, the Gulfstream Park feature is an optional/preliminary allowances, today's a 5-furlong turf sprint for fillies and mares 3 & up. The race boasts an 8-5 Todd Pletcher-trained favorite with Johnny Velazquez in the boot. The filly has obvious merit, of course, but we'' take the value offered on Spun Cap (4-1).

A 3YO daughter of Hard Spun, she's proven fastest on the Equiform scale by virtue of her debut win at the distance in Kentucky. Subsequently, she was a willing third in a listed stakes at Saratoga following a problematic start then tried Keeneland's Polytrack at 7 furlongs after that. Back to her best game today with a switch to hot riding Rosario,

Taking Spun Cap to win at 5-2 or greater, an exacta box with the favorite, and adding old pro, course loving Lady Rizzi (8-1) to the exotic mix.
