The Futuro Looks Spiccante
Today's feature at Gulfstream Park-choice of two today-is a secondary allowances/optional going 11 furlongs on a firm turf course features some past and future stakes runners.
Anyone who witnessed the U. S. debut of Capitan Futuro (9-5) had to be impressed. The running time wasn't especially fast--though it was a good first offering--but to finish the way he did to beat 10 rivals of a very ordinary pace took a remarkable turn of foot.
The connections could not be more top notch, what with Team Valor, Motion and Johnny V hooking up, but as a 3-year-old there's still plenty of developing left to do. Motion is 21% efficient with second-Lasix runners and a profitable and worthy 26% when returning within this time frame. The sky appears to be the limit for the stoutly bred English colt.
Taking Capitan Futuro to win, no prices restrictions, and keying him in multiples with speedy Holy Invader (6-1), the effectively fresh Zhivago (4-1) and Hailstone (3-1), getting major class relief in this spot.
