Wharton Wins the War

Interesting turf feature at Gulfstream, today's ninth race, a preliminary allowances or "NW2L" for 3-year-olds and up going a mile. To us, it's a battle between two War Front colts and the preference, uncharacteristically, is the one without grass experience going in.

But in making its debut for the Chad Brown shed off a compelling workline and given the barn's turf expertise, this appears to be a winning spot, especially with turf ace Castellano aloft. Obviously not without his issues, the expensive colt comes from top Stonestreet connections and was most impressive visually when seen breaking his maiden at Churchill Downs last season. A fast colt, we're expecting an 'A' race in his return.

Taking Wharton to win at 5-2 or greater and key-boxing him in exactas with Gaelico (3-1) and adding Fact (8-1) and Launch Commander (15-1) to the super-exotic mix.
