Feathered Rules the Roost

Feathered is a layover and will be a short price in today's Gulfstream feature, especially given the connections. The choice for handicappers here is the classic speed vs. style and dynamics but that battle, between Zia and Huasca, will be for place.

Taking Feathered to win, no price restrictions, and keying her in exactas with the two fillies above. For a complete breakdown of the race, click on the blog section at http://www.123bet.com.

Shhh!!

In today's Gulfstream feature, two horses layover the group with TERs of 74 and 70, respectively. Further, Penry has a 2-point TER edge over La Moskette with three runners clustered directly below at 59; virtually no difference among four of the five.

The layovers require some thought, too, as Twist’n Bake and Quiet Kitten are keys in the top slot. Consider whether you prefer the ‘faster Kitten’ with two angles, or the ‘slower Twist’n Bake’ with 11 favorable angles?

Per usual, we will let closing odds decide the win play while keying both up top--‘Bake’ is the value on early line. Will use Penry in 2nd slot and the clustered bunch just below.

For running total purposes, taking Quiet Kitten to win, no price restrictions. For a complete breakdown of today's race, click on blog section at http://www.123bet.com.

A Fair Chance for Value in New Orleans Feature

Hazards od Love (5-2) has excellent dirt figures, but how will it transfer to turf, is one of the main questions to be answered in the feature race at Fair Grounds today, where the weather is predicted to be fair, unlike Hallandale, where things are a whole lot murkier.

Late odds definitely will determine the win play here and Profluent is value on the early line at 12-1, well-equipped by pedigree and connections for a successful stretch-out. But Brown Almighty (4-1) and Red Strike (7-2) are the proven routers.

If you need a better breakdown of the turf event, click on http://www.123bet.com for a full analysis complete with Performance Figure energy ratings.

We will take, however, Profluent to win at 8-1 or greater, and an exacta box with his two rivals here.
