Isabelle Sings Loudly in GP Feature

Change of scenery will do good-horse-circuit bettors some good when Keeneland opens next weekend in that you won't have Pletcher-Velazquez favorites to contend with in virtually every race. But until then it's something Feature Race bettors must deal with.

Ergo, Isabella Sings (8-5) is very difficult to beat on papers. She's run faster than the competition in her career, made a very solid return to win her 3YO debut last month and figures to move forward in her second start of the campaign like she did in 2014.

The interesting filly in today's featured Sanibel Island is Red Sashay (6-1) who needed her first start of the year and has had four solid works including a recent bullet for her return. Trainer Cibelli is profitable with this type of spacing and switches to Corey Lanerie, who's been riding well in recent days.

Taking Isabella Sings to win, no price restrictions, an exacta box with Red Sashay, and adding All in Fun (5-2) and potential price shot Miss Margaret to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2008: 1717

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 517-331

Amount Wagered: $3,434 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,538.20

Profit to Date: $104.20

Good to Have a Competitive Edge

The overnight Tamarac Stakes might be a glamorized allowance race between two of the six runners but it doesn’t mean the race is void of drama.

Which talented colt is the readiest returning from injuries; one minor, one not so much.

Competitive Edge is the undefeated winner of two by a combined 15-3/4 lengths, including the Hopeful—but he’s not started since the August Grade 1.

Mr. Jordan is extremely talented and is coming off a minor issue and relatively short layoff. But Competitive Edge looked like a special horse at 2 and this is A Pletcher trainee, after all.

Taking Competitive Edge to win, no price restrictions, an exacta box with Mr. Jordan, and adding Chipit and Cool Man Walkin to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2008: 1714
