Pricci's Free Daily Feature Race Analysis

Five days per week and every racing day during the Saratoga meet, John Pricci will provide horse racing selections of that day's feature race. When the racing schedule dictates otherwise, there will be analysis from other major thoroughbred Tracks. Check back here 5 days a week for free horse racing selections.

In addition to his race analysis, John will provide commentary in a weekly "On the Line" column and daily blogs under the "Pricci's Morning Line" banner.

A Hot One in Today’s Feature

For the last two days, the big races in New York look a lot like those from Southern California. For the second straight day, the feature, a "non-winners of 3-optional claimer" is five horses deep and again will be run as the second race.

We'll seek value with a recent David Jacobson claim, Spa City Fever (8-1), who should dominate the early pace, has shown an ability at the trip, attracts Junior Alvarado, who's been doing lots of winning for Jacobson of late and exits a key race that's produced two winners from two subsequent starters.

Taking Spa City Fever to win at 5-1 or greater and key boxing him with class dropping Big Screen (7-5) and first-time Rudy Marilyn's Guy (5-2).

A Gift Horse?

Today's Belmont Park feature, the Gygistar overnight stakes, has attracted but a field of five but only one of the 3-year-olds, Declan's Moon (8-5), has raced the 7 furlong distance.

When last seen, the colt was coming from far back to win the G3 Bay Shore. This has the look of an event written to suit this winner of three of four starts. He's been working bullets over the Oklahoma training track.

Taking Declan's Moon to win, no price restrictions, and a cold exacta with ship-in Duke Of The City (6-1).
