Roman Treasure Gets the Gold

Today's featured ositive Gal Stakes draws a short field and a likely short priced favorite. Roman Treasure (7-5) has been cutting her teeth in graded stakes competition, including the G1Test.

Owning high speed, generally superior figures, an ability to handle a wet track, a desirable outside post and Dominguez woulod make her a tough out. But when you consider that Mike Hushion is an otherworldly 38% efficient in non-graded stakes, it makes the chore of beating her near impossible.

Taking Roman Treasure to win with no price restrictions and using price shot Sentimental Lass (15-1), slower than these but a Belmont surface lover making her second start off a layup, to complete the exacta.

Running Totals: (936) 293-190-132 Total Dollar Return: $2,021.30 [win selections only]

This Lady Runs Late

There certainly seems to be enough speed in today’s Belmont feature, a secondary allowances for state-bred fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, sprinting 6 furlongs.

And that’s as good news for Lady On The Run (4-1), who’s a deep closer from the Prodana Naviesta school of late running sprinters.

(I know Hedley Woodhouse used to ride her; can’t remember the trainer, and she ran so long ago that Equibase doesn’t even have her in their database).

Anyway, with fillies such as Saltamontes, Turned to Gold setting the table and possibly Page By Page and Myrtle’s Gray applying pressure, the pace will be at least honest, at best, hot.

Taking Lady On The Run to win at 3-1 or greater and key-boxing her in exotics pools with Page By Page (3-1), Bailzee (6-1) and Turned To Gold (10-1).

Running Totals: (935) 293-189-132 Total Dollar Return: $2,021.30 [win selections only]

Monument Hill Live in the Belmont Feature

Today’s Belmont Park feature is a secondary allowance optional claiming is an open 1-1/16th miles on the turf and the trip is the key to value with the George Weaver trainee Monument Hill (8-1).

Coming off a turf decline line, the distance specialist owns tactical speed, kick, and goes very well for Eddie Castro.

Briefly freshened since July 30, he makes his surface debut off a series of purposeful recent works on the Oklahoma turf course.

Taking Monument Hill to win at 5-1 or greater and key boxing him in the exacta with Unaccountable (9-2) and Gathering Cloud (7-2).

Running Totals: (934) 293-189-131 Total Dollar Return: $2,021.30 [win selections only]
