In Search of Shipping Money

With the small-fields trend continuing at Aqueduct, the hope is that the co-feature has a chance to offer a bit more value at post time odds.

Saharan (2-1) is once again back at her best distance, gets away from the speedy Stonetastic and worked very sharply for Jimmy Jerkens, whose horses have been running exceptionally well at this meet. Rajiv continues his comeback here.

Taking Saharan to win at 8-5 or greater and an exacta box with Kalabaka (6-1).

Number of Selections since 2007: 2184

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 661-429

Amount Wagered: $4,368.00 [$2 to win only]

Surface Will Make the Difference…

With some precipitation expected to continue following Wednesday's rains, the prospect of a wet track remains firm, which works to the benefit of John's Island.

Rounding to top form once again for the live Asmussen outfit, John's Island (2-1) ran his lifetime best on a wet track going 6-1/2 furlongs. We're thinking that and an outside draw would seal the deal for the troubled show finisher of his last start.

Taking John's Island to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with fast working True Bet (7-2).

Number of Selections since 2007: 2183

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 660-429

Amount Wagered: $4,366.00 [$2 to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $4,465.70

Profit to Date: $99.70

A Merry Old Soul Was He

Never want to take a short priced favorite returning from a long layup, especially going a flat mile, but Matt King Cole (2-1) has returned at middle-distance one-turn routes before.

The first time he was beaten a nose by a nice colt, Gift Box, while finishing 18 lengths in front of the show finisher. The second time he did so, he won. Outclassing this group on paper, why not again?

Taking Matt King Cole to win, no price restrictions, key-boxing exactas with Gentrify (10-1) and Three Alarm Fire (4-1).

Number of Selections since 2007: 2182

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 660-428

Amount Wagered: $4,364.00 [$2 to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $4,465.70

Profit to Date: $101.70
