A Breath of Fresh Air in Belmont Feature

Today's Belmont feature is the Joseph A Gimma for state-bred 2yo fillies going 7 furlongs. While she isn't the fastest filly on anyone's speed scale, Newport Breeze (5-1) is a must selection for us.

I have never seen--repeat, never--see a youngster do what she did at Saratoga: stalking the pace down the backside, drop back on the turn to the point where it appeared she was going eased, only to re-rally from impossible circumstances to finish second.

She wasn't very far winning the whole day thing! Check out the replay!

Taking Newport Breeze to win at 3-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with the fast maiden breaker Girl's Dance Party (5-1), and the very professional Aunt Babe (4-1).

No Denying This Tale

Interesting renewal of the Presque Isle Mile Stakes in Erie, Pa. this afternoon and, consequently, we're throwing deep.

Tale of the Nile (12-1), a runnerup in this race last year at 32-1, is coming off a sharp allowance prep for this following a brief freshening and now is entered back quickly, owning enough tactical speed to stay in range and kick to get home, especially under his 113 lightweight assignment. Bullet work at Fair Hill base for this surface lover.

Taking Tale of the Nile to win at 8-1 or greater, and exacta key boxes with Ghost Hunter (2-1), last year's winner, and classy New York invader War Correspondent (9-5) for team Clement/Gaffalione.

Rebounds R Us

Today's G2 Sands Point at Belmont Park for 3YO turf fillies has drawn a field of nine; a triad trained by Chad Brown. We're going to attempt to climb that mountain.

When last seen in Saratoga, La Coronel (4-1), making her first start since an unsuccessful foray into Ascot, she had virtually no chance, losing ground throughout while on the chase over a course that played heavily to inside speed during that duration. Further, she appeared a tad short of condition.

Given her tremendous turn of foot, and a sharp recent breeze indicating improvement, we're looking for a rebound performance.

Taking La Coronel to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta key-box with sharp Brown trainee Inflexibility (6-1) and first-Lasix invader Vue Fantastique (7-2).
