Driving Me to Drink

Today's featured 8th race is a study in trips. While several had things work against them, Tennessee Whiskey (9-2) never really had a chance to build on his good effort at Belmont last fall.

He's better than that and dynamics give him a chance to make amends in this wide open event but one lacking a standout.

Taking Tennessee Whiskey to win at 3-1 or greater. Exacta horses we're considering are Silvery Starlet (4-1) and Nerverlee (15-1).

Stiffed in Today’s Dubious Feature

It's hard to fathom but the best race on today's Gulfstream card is a lifeless as it gets; a five horse field with two of the classiest horses coming off very lengthy layups.

The only alternative is the appropriately named Stiffed (9-5) which not only owns the best figures on both the Thoro-Graph and Pricci Energy scales but has recency with good spacing and is nicely drawn outside for the flat mile out of the chute.

Taking Stiffed to win with no price restrictions. Penwith (2-1) is the exacta factor, likely to shake loose for McLaughlin, excellent with the layoff types.
