Thoristic Parks

Excellent recent form, a fondness for the surface, a hot rider, the pole and some fancy condition-book readin' points to Thoristic (6-1) in today's featured finale at Gulfstream.

It doesn't hurt that the race shape should not compromise the gelded 5YO, nor does the fact that the Dibona barn has been live all meet long. His most recent blowout indicates that his current sharpness remains.

Taking Thoristic to win at 9-2 or greater, key-boxing exactas with LAY-2 returnee Matanzas Inlet (6-1) switching to Ortiz, the equally sharp, surface-loving Salute the Colonel (4-1), and adding Mai Ty One On (5-1) to the super-exotics mix.

Shug’s Filly Flying High

Today's Gulf feature is a good one in which some promising newly turned 3YO fillies will demonstrate what they may have in store for the balance of this meet and beyond.

Two recent maiden winners impressed very favorably; Fly So High (4-5) for the McGaughey barn and Miss Katie Bug (6-1) from the Romans shed.

Normally, with little to separate them on paper, we'd opt for the longer price, which we still might depending off odds. But what separates these ladies at this point is the former's Big A maiden breaker.

She dominated, opening ground on her own into the turn at today's same dynamics, and drew off while racing greenly and seemingly looking for competition late. There certainly was plenty left in reserve and she looms the most likely winner.

Taking Fly So High to win, no price restrictions, an exacta box with 'Katie,' and adding My Favorite Gift (6-1) to the super-exotics mix.

Betting on Barry Bets

Not an exciting feature today at Gulfstream, an optional allowances that has draw six going 6 furlongs but competitive nonetheless. However, we've narrowed it down to a pair coming out of the same Dec. 13 sprint.

Rock and Fellers (3-1) is highly likely to improve for Navarro off his recent run over the track but it's Barry Kerafin Bets (4-1) that likely will prove the better value.

Forced to chase 'Rock' throughout his last going 7 furlongs, he figures to benefit from that effort, the turnback to three-quarters and the switch back to Luis Saez, aboard for his last victory.

With a little early patience and good timing, Dwoskin trainee is very like to seal this deal. Taking Barry Kerafin Bets to win at 5-2 or greater and an exacta box with the Navarro runner.
