Asmussen Claim All Business at Belmont

It's a featured Belmont sprint featuring a small field but when you can make a case for almost all, it's a good betting race.

While not as fast as her rivals, we'll err on the side of the surface lover, Littlemissbusiness (7-2).

Improving incrementally off the Robertino claim last out, she goes first time for Steve Asmussen today vs. better off his claim.

She can handle any distance, can sit inside and make her run when Irad Ortiz gives her the cue.

Taking Littlemissbusiness to win at 7-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with the sharp Riot Worthy (3-1) and new Rice acquisition Everlasting Secret (4-1).

Analysis courtesy of Tote Busters. Click on http://www.johnpricci.com for more information

RACE 6: Grade 3 DWYER STAKES 3-Year-Olds 1 Mile

2 – ****BATTALION RUNNER (6-5)
Pricci Energy Rating: 90
Last out placing in Irish War Cry’s key-race Wood (2 wins from 4 next-out runners) attests to talent and class. Proven very good when fresh. Tactics dependent on Castellano aboard True Timber, but can shake loose. Belmont bullets signal readiness for Todd/Johnny team.

3 – ****PRACTICAL JOKE (7-5) PER: 88
Excellent effort when 5th in Louisville after game Blue Grass and Fountain of Youth placings. Grade 1 winner at 2 on this track at the trip. Pointing to bigger, this appears to be Jim Dandy or Haskell prep. Can still win, of course, becoming fifth subsequent winner out of KY Derby.

5 – ***GIUSEPPE THE GREAT (5-1) PER: 92 [7F]
Excellent placing behind American Anthem’s monster run in G2 Woody Stephens, coming up to added trip perfectly. Seven-Win Tyler up from SoFla for the re-ride. Projected live pace suits style; 48.4B 2nd fastest of 73 peers week of JUL 1.

Taking Battalion Runner to win at 8-5 or greater, and key-boxing exactas with Practical Joker and Giuseppe the Great.

Lift a Glass to Los Borrachos

Today's nominal feature at Belmont is an NX2 optional claimer featuring a very competitive group. Consequently, we throwing deep.

What's not to like about Los Borrachos (8-1)?

A first-time gelding making its first start off the Danny Gargan claim--a barn that's batting 25% at the meet--he suits the dynamics nicely, especially today's hybrid distance at which he's 1-1-0 from three lifetime starts.

Taking Los Borrachos to win at 5-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with the developing Moon Over a Beauty (5-2) from the live Violette shed, and either of the David Jacobson stable coupling (4-1), El Charro or Brimstone.
