Easily could have gone in four or five different directions but this looks like a spot to seek out value and believe that Bringbackthemagic (6-1) will slip through the wagering cracks, given the presence of more than a few high profile outfits.
When last seen, the Stephen DiMauro-trained filly was compromised in a well graded turf mile over the course but finished up willingly, beaten a little over a length.
Stormy Atlantic gelding broke maiden at first asking, his lone start at today’s distance, and prior to his latest, was a very willing third in the longer Tropical Park Derby, his Calder finale.
With today’s place expected to be a little livelier, we’re looking for Juan Leyva to take advantage of the experience he gained on this colt last out. Mini-stretchout makes the difference.
Taking Bringbackthemagic to win at 9-2 or greater and key boxing him first and second in multiples with super sharp Grip Hands (4-1), strong finishing Liston (3-1) and fast working Sheppard import Utley (8-1).
Running Totals: (999) 309-201-142 Total Dollar Return: $2,130.70 [win selections only]

7-Beamer was not up to the Kentucky Derby challenge last year, but his losses in those races were, to me, better than these horses recent races. Judge for yourself whether I’m trying to awaken the dead, and will give him a try in his second race since June, his last being chalked up to a 6 furlong workout. Been working at that high falootin training track down there in Florida with the beautiful people; I’m impressed.
7-Beamer (6.14)
8-Bringbackthemagic (6.85)
6-Liston (7.18)
