Interesting that while Dale Romans was pondering the next race for Colletti (6-1), he jumps up and starts his sophomore colt back on the grass in Saturday's Gulfstream feature, the Kitten's Joy Stakes, playing the Shackleford card to Graham Motion's Animal Kingdom, this one named Lucky Chappy (9-5). Funny, but isn't this the way Animal Kingdom started, too?

Of course, it was, and 'Chappy' looks as strong here as Kingdom looked in the 2011 Preakness, given his superior performance figures and more accomplished record. For his part, Colletti must be forgiven his Cash Call fiasco and has worked brilliantly here in Hallendale for his return to turf. At this juncture, it seems Romans believes his colt is better on turf. So do we.
