Give me Jamie Ness!
Not trying to be funny here but we like the scenario surrounding My Charming Clyde (4-1). Not known for his dirt to turf runners, this one makes sense.
All his turf wins have come on this ground where he’s earned competitive Equiform figures going longer and shorter than today’s route; 8 furlongs should suit ideally.
Late developing 5-year-old gelding gained needed conditioning from his last, a race that produced one winner from two subsequent starters. Stable rider Goncalves aloft.
Taking My Charming Clyde to win at 3-1 or greater, an exacta box with price shot Crimson Knight (10-1), adding sharp returnee Charging Home (5-1) and very classy veteran, Beckham’s Bend (3-1).
Running Totals: (1031) 319-203-148 Total Dollar Return: $2,199.80 [win selections only]

Never could abide a guy named Clyde, but if you say so, I believe you. I’d like to talk about the morning line for a moment. There seems to be a shortage around the country, not of horses, which is a fallacy, but of morning line odds makers worth their salt. Of course, there is Eric Donovan in New York, which is the exception. He may not be the flashiest, sexiest, charismatic guy in racing, but his handicapping is beyond exceptional, and I’m a great fan. If I may toot my own horn for a moment, “It takes a handicapper to know a handicapper.”
It’s daily double time my fine furlong friends, and if you would allow me, it would be my pleasure to give you the winner of the 8th at Tampa at 3,630 feet. There are only 3 horses in the race in my estimation, with a standout in 3-Weslinn. Use 12-Calbo and 9-Royal Nemesis underneath and you’ll be in high clover in no time.
Have a great day when you play at the Bay, O.K.

T, right on re Eric Donovan. And I’m a fan of Chuck Streva who makes the lines at the SoFla tracks. These guys pay attention!

The job is an important one, and difficult, and no place for a neophyte. Although I preach that the “line” does not affect me, psychologically, it does affect many newer players, and should be as accurate as possible.
