It’s not that the favorite is worth trying to beat. He might not be, given the open nature of a field such as this, where the public’s choice could pay fair odds.
That would be Silver Max (3-1) who, when last seen, was chasing the pace in Algorithms’ Grade 3 Holy Bull. Even without the surface change, this would be a totally different animal. Prior to that, he was a special-weights maiden breaker.
Dale Romans’ colt never has taken a backward step on the Equiform scale while racing on turf and owns a wide edge over the group. The one nagging element is 5 runnerup finishes in 7 career starts.
We will go for the gusto here with Scorcher (12-1) who’s developing nicely on the figures scale--albeit not as fast—returns at a reduced level for the first time since claimed three back, picks up Johnny, blew out sharply at his Calder base and gets a couple of pounds from the favorite.
Taking Scorcher to win at 7-1 or greater, an exacta box with the favorite and adding sharp working Captain Webb (6-1) to the exotics mix.
Running Totals: (1039) 321-203-150 Total Dollar Return: $2,222.40 [win selections only]

What is this new-fangled MTO. Remember the day when men were men, and horses were horses? I don’t go for that kind of operation. A bunch of sissy horses and horsemen! Help stamp out MTO, and no scratches unless a horse lost a leg.
Love this time of year, the newbies have all had a go or two, and guys like me truly believe we can make sense of it all. I’m going to use the K.I.S.S. principle I learned in the Army here, (Keep It Simple Stupid), and hope it doesn’t cause me to visit Tap City. 8-Silver Max is gold. Takes out his silver hammer and pummels these into oblivion. Beats them early, beats them late, beats them all around that dirty brown oval. Back to this time of year, love is in the air, hope springs eternal, and all that rubbish. Spring is here, let’s have a beer, ain’t life queer? Let’s K.I.S.S. today.

So when I saw the headline to today’s pick, I thought you were going with “hot"horse’s advance pick(egotistical me)-BIG FISHERMAN. But no, this is a grudge match, boys. Betting against you, but as JP would say, wishing you a safe journey, just not a profitable one.

You sound as confident as I am HH. I’ll go so far as to say that I believe Maximillian may be just as good as Hansen, and wins by at least 3 (under wraps). Go ahead and take the place position, I’ll allow it.

And another thing, did you ever notice how track management always hands you a second-rate card on Friday? I can only surmise that this is because people who are gainfully employed get paid on Friday, and they are going to bet anyway, so they think they are being cute; they could run goats and the people would still bet. Also, noticed this phenomenon to a lesser extent on holidays, such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day. Wrong thinking once again by the Wharton whack jobs.

Sorry, too much coffee this morning. In closing, you just have to play the last double at the Stream. Using the 13 (if he goes) 1 and 4, in that order of course. Let’s also get rid of “ae"s. If you enter you run; just think how much ink, space and paper Steven Crist could save, and maybe he could expand the print to where it is readable again. I’m contemplating a class-action lawsuit against the Form, and attempting to get together all railbirds suffering from bad vision. Please contact me.
