Today's Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Handicap at one mile features the returns of Fort Larned (3-5), the dual Grade 1 winner of 2012 including, of course, the Breeders' Cup Classic. A one turn mile doesn't suit him as well as a longer two-turner, and neither does Ian WIlkes figure to have him fully cranked. But he is the "fastest" horse on the Equiform scale and the demonstrated class of the field.

We'll use him defensively but will take Discreet Dancer (3-1) who impressed winning his 6F return from a year's layup very gamely, is proven at the trip and has often demonstrated his love of Gulfstream. He also gets nine pounds from the favorite.

Taking Discreet Dancer to win at 5-2 or greater, and exacta boxes with Fort Larned and Swagger Jack (6-1), bias hindered when second in the GP Sprint Championship.
