If Jackson Bend (7-5) doesn't pick up where he left off in Saratoga last year, I'm at a loss as to which horse will win the first of 35 graded stakes, the G3 James Marvin. Dominant performance figures, tactical speed an outside draw at 7 furlongs and a killer workline makes him a tough out. Taking Jackson Bend to win, no price restrictions, and will try to get Pacific Ocean (5-1) and Golddigger's Boy in the number.

The G3 Schuylverville is more open than it appears. Four of the seven fillies have an excellent chance. We're opting for the very quick, fast working Sweet Shirley Mae (7-2), a potential trip sitter from the pole with Ramon. The price should be fair; 3-1 or greater. The competition, in preferred order, is Baby J (5-2), Can't Explain (5-1) and Fully Living (4-1).
