Today's Belmont feature, a secondary allowances/optional claimer for fillies and mares going a mile on the Widener is a wide open puzzle.

The main contenders are the freshened Anna Sophia, going first time for Team Todd/Johnny, Floral Romance, who was much improved for Bill Mott last out, talented 3-year-old Mariel n Kathy, and better-than-rated price shot Ready Signal.

Given the course condition last weekend, it's hard to envision a speed-kind surface, so the nod goes to Floral Romance. She finished very well with good energy displacement in a strongly run two-turner going longer last out at Saratoga, but was handy enough to break her maiden going 7 furlongs on this course last year. Regular Mott pilot, the strong finishing Junior Alvarado, takes the call.

Taking Floral Romance to win, no price restrictions, and key boxing her first and second in multiples with the rivals listed above.
