The early line favorite, Kuaui Kate (3-5) certainly will be a tough out, winning three straight sprints to begin her career before being rated into submission and then tiring in the two-turn Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. She's back sprinting with a rider switch to Johnny V for trainer Todd Pletcher.
However, we'll opt for any value available with Cor Cor (3-1), who's shipping south from Tampa for trainer Joan Scott. Undefeated in two starts herself, she won the Sandpiper Stakes in impressive fashion, earning a New Pace Top in the process.
Since that event, she earned two bullets, is nicely drawn in the middle of a small field, and her early zip will allow her to put severe pressure on her main rival breaking from the rail. Scott Spieth, having a very solid Tampa meet, accepts a return call.
Taking Cor Cor to win at 2-1 or greater and an exacta box with the favorite.

Even Mr. Todd who is not given to hyperbole said she was “impressive,” that’s high praise from him.
In his quotes, he actually touched on the reason I went for the upset.
“The ‘3-filly’ [Cor Cor] has a lot of speed and we were breaking from the rail. But when she cleared, we were able to get to the outside.”
Funny that he said that. I was yelling at the screen..."stay out in the middle, make Johnny react to you, you #&^%$!”
In tne end, it didn’t matter; that was what a mismatch looks like.
