Interesting condition to start the NYRA week, a starter allowances for horses that broke their maidens for a claiming price going six furlongs. And it figures to be a battle of a triad of three heavy-hitting outfits.

Gary Contessa saddles the favored 8-5 entry of Golden Tablet and Civil Suit. Golden Tablet draws the live apprentice, Jermaine Bridgmohan, has an inside post and the kind of tactical style that ensures a good trip. The other half of the Winning Move entry is the fastest three-year-old in here, Civil Suit, who goes first time for this outfit, a profitable 21 percent with new acquisitions. Speed and Ramon Dominguez makes him more formidable.

Fast Million (5-2) is also a new acquisition from the highly successful outfit of Richard Englander going first time for Tony Dutrow, a 25 percent proposition. He’s shown a big late kick but that effort was at five furlongs. But since he figures to improve, that makes this a tough call. Alan Garcia won’t hurt his chances.

Ease My Mind (7-2) comes from the crafty Gumpster Stable crew. The colt was a good third over the track following the Tim Hills claim. C.C. Lopez takes the re-ride and should have the multiple winner in a position to win. The dynamics here makes this very much a rider’s race, especially in a short field.

But if Civil Suit runs back to his Florida finale in his first start for Contessa, the battle will be for place. Taking Civil Suit to win, no price restrictions, and exacta key boxes with the remaining major contenders.
