The Grade 1 Spinaway is interesting and difficult to decipher. The problem for me is that Todd's horse on the outside had the benefit of a speedy track to suit her style. Both inside fillies both raced extremely well against the grain of the grain and, as a matter of fact, are both Racing Flow upgrades.

So which one do you take? I have no definitive opinion, but I will shade Bahnah (6-1) because the other filly, Brazen Persuasion (5-1), breaks from the pole and will need to rush out of there, very likely to be pressured throughout. We like the idea that Bahnah looked uncomfortable off the pace In her second start and still had the will to win the Schuylerville in a dead heat.

Taking Bahnah to win at 7-2 or greater and key boxing first and second in exactas with Final Persuasion and the speedy Sweet Whiskey (2-1).

The signature event for the Spa's final weekend is today's Grade 1 Woodward Stakes where Mucho Macho Man (4-1) is well positioned to make amends for last year's narrow defeat.

Five-year-old loomed a winner at head-stretch only to finish one-paced, as if short of condition. With that under his belt, outside position to suit his stalking style, and two purposeful recent works, he will attempt his winning run as the group approaches to quarter pole.

Taking MMM to win at 7-2 or greater and an exacta box with the SoCal pacesetting speedster, Paynter (2-1)
