Giant Killer on the Case
When the fillies in the G1 Ogden Phipps were going down the backside, with a large personal stake in the performance of Princess of Sylmar, I was happy to see the lively pace but, at the same time, wondered why the rider on Classic Point (8-1) was shooting ducks on the backstretch run.
I'm not sure, but I'm pretty certain those tactics will have her ready for best today, and the fact that she's dropping into a Grade 3, the Bed Of Roses, and turning back to her most effective distance. She doesn't necessarily need the lead and her outside draw gives Junior Alvarado some options.
Taking Classic Point to win at 5-1 or greater and key-boxing her first in the exacta with Street Girl (7-2).
