Imagine There’s a Winner, It’s Easy If You Try
Today is the first feature race of the week at Belmont Park and I find myself in the unenviable position of taking what they appear to be giving me. Or, to put it another way, if it’s not Imagining (7-5) then I have no clue what other horse it could be.
There are horses that are just as fast on the Equiform scale, but in this Shug McGaughey trained Giant’s Causeway colt we find a runner making its 4-year-old debut for a top layoff barn and one that ran as fast as many of these at 3 than most have as older runners.
The colt has worked sharply this spring and is getting huge class relief, dropping out of Grade 1 company into the preliminary allowance level with Shug tapping Johnny V. for the assignment. His only lifetime win came on this ground. He’s obvious, in more ways than one.
Taking Imagining to win, no price restrictions, and key boxing him in exactas with sharp working returnee Fizzano (5-1) and impressive debut winner Coexist (12-1).
Running Totals: (1086) 334-211-164 Total Dollar Return: $2,297.00 [win selections only]
